In June 2009 the school underwent an Ofsted inspection. We are very pleased with the outcome which shows a significant improvement since the last inspection in 2006.
We were scored as 'good' in 20 of the 33 areas, with the remaining areas all being graded 'satisfactory'. The inspector rated us as an 'improving school'.
We were particularly pleased with our 'Early Years Foundation Provision', our 'Personal Development and Well-Being', and our 'Care and Guidance for Pupils'.
The report concludes that the overwhelming majority of parents believe that Downs Barn is a caring and friendly school where each child is valued and made to feel special'. We are very proud of this and thank you all for your support.
