To support the national event ‘Show Racism the Red Card’, we are asking all our children to wear home clothes including an item of red on Thursday 20th October. There is no cost for this event, it is purely to support the value of RESPECT, which includes a zero tolerance of racism, that we share with all our children.
Following the sad news regarding the passing of Queen Elizabeth II last week, her funeral will take place on 19 September. Being declared a Bank Holiday, the school will be closed for staff & pupils on Monday 19 September and will reopen on Tuesday 20 September.
We look forward to welcoming all our Year 1 and Year 2 children back to school on Tuesday 6th September and hope that you have all had a lovely summer . . . . Children starting school for the first time in our Foundation class will have been notified of their child's start date . . . . .

On the hottest day of the year so far, our Fathers’ Day event was very well attended by our families and the children had a lovely time playing, creating, painting, reading and den building with their visitors.
We all enjoyed meeting Flo, the Willen Hospice mascot, learning a dance with her and then dancing, walking, running, scooting or cycling around the field and playground, raising money for the fantastic work that Willen Hospice does. Thank you to all children, parents and carers for supporting us.
The whole school enjoyed our World Cultural Diversity Day. We learnt all about the different countries that our friends come from, and had the chance to taste lots of delicious food from around the world. Thank you so much to all of our parents and carers for supporting our special day.

We are holding open sessions for new applicants at Southwood School on Monday 6th December, Downs Barn School on Tuesday 7th December and Germander Park School on Wednesday 8th December at 11am and 5pm. Please see latest news for more information.
This year to support Children in Need, children will be given a raffle ticket for every 50p brought in. All raffle tickets will be collected and one child will then get the chance to win a Pudsey Bear teddy! The draw will take place on Monday 22nd November, when Year 2 return.
Children can wear their own clothes too (if they have something spotty, that would be great!)
Thank you very much for the wonderful assortment of food items that the children brought into school. We created quite a display for our assembly! All the food was donated to The Food Bank, and they have sent us a thank you letter in appreciation of our support of their charity. We would like to pass this thanks onto you for supplying the items.
